egyptian nightjar
Caprimulgus aegyptius
The sandy nightjar is a medium-sized nocturnal bird with sandy-brown coloration. It lives in deserts and semi-deserts, where it camouflages excellently on the ground and hunts flying insects.
The dun nightjar differs from other nightjars by its very light dun coloration, which is ideal for life in the desert. It is useful because it eats many harmful nocturnal insects.
