Campylomormyrus phantasticus is a freshwater fish from central Africa. It has a very long and curved outgrowth on the head which helps find food in murky water using electrical signals.
Campylomormyrus phantasticus differs from related species by its especially long and strongly curved proboscis. The fish is important for nature because it controls the population of small benthic animals and serves as part of the food chain in African rivers.
Locomotion through water employed while searching for or capturing prey.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
