White hake is a marine bottom fish from the cod family. It lives in the northwestern Atlantic near the bottom at depths from several tens to hundreds of meters.
White hake differs from red hake by its lighter coloration and the length of its barbel. It is important for the marine ecosystem as a mid-level predator and as a fishing object.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
