Rhinogobius giurinus
The cheekbar goby Rhinogobius giurinus is a small freshwater fish up to 10 centimeters long. It lives on the bottom of rivers and streams in East Asia and has dark stripes on the cheeks.
The cheekbar goby differs from related species by noticeable dark stripes on the cheeks and a sucker formed from the pelvic fins. It is important for the nature of rivers because it eats small invertebrates and serves as food for larger fish.
collects food with its mouth from the bottom and from the surface of stones
