serbian highflyer
Serbian Highflyer (Srpski visokoletac)
High endurance in flight, calm and affectionate character, strong instinct to return home, moderate aggression towards other males during nesting period, very active and energetic in the air.
Serbian Highflyer — a medium-sized sport-flying pigeon with a light, elegant build, well-developed pectoral musculature and a pronounced "flying" silhouette. Overall body length 280–340 mm, wingspan 580–660 mm, weight 260–340 g. Head small, rounded, smooth (without crest). Beak thin, straight. Neck thin, gracefully curved, with characteristic vibration. Body slender, elongated, back straight, chest relatively broad (55–65 mm). Wings long, narrow, stiff. Tail narrow, tightly folded. Plumage dense, smooth, with strong sheen. Differs from the basic domestic pigeon by a lighter silhouette, absence of feather ornaments on the head, narrow long wing and tail, and exceptional flying qualities (altitude 800–1500 m, duration 4–8 hours).
