The blue antelope is an extinct species of large antelope from South Africa. Adult animals had bluish-gray fur, and horns grew on their heads.
The blue antelope differed from related species like the sable and horse antelope by its unusual bluish coloration. The species went extinct at the end of the eighteenth century due to hunting and loss of habitat. It helped maintain the balance of vegetation on the meadows of South Africa.
