The Mongolian gazelle is a medium-sized antelope that lives in the steppes of Mongolia, China, and Russia. Males have a large goiter on the neck and lyre-shaped horns, and the animals gather in large herds and run fast.
The Mongolian gazelle differs from other antelopes with enlarged larynx in males and the ability to live in cold dry steppes. It is important for nature as the main food for wolves and as an animal that maintains the balance of vegetation in the steppe ecosystem.
