The Talysh toad, or Eichwald's toad (Bufo eichwaldi), is a rare species of toad that lives only in the Talysh Mountains on the border of Azerbaijan and Iran. It inhabits humid forests and plays an important role in the local nature.
The Talysh toad differs from other toads in its unique skin color and head shape. It helps control insect populations in forests and serves as an indicator of water body purity in the mountains.
