risso s dragonet
Callionymus risso
Risso's dragonet is a small bottom-dwelling marine fish up to 15 centimeters long. Males are brightly colored with blue stripes and orange spots, while females have a modest gray-brown color for camouflage.
Risso's dragonet differs from other dragonets in the shape of the spines on its head and the bright coloration of males. It is important for the seabed because it eats small invertebrates and serves as food for larger fish.
