Ukrainian Skycutter
High-flying, hardy, oriented towards long flight at high altitude. Calm in the dovecote, but very active and purposeful in the air. Gets along well with other pigeons, has a strong instinct to return to the native dovecote.
Ukrainian Skycutter (Orlik Polonais / Polish Eagle) — high-flying sport breed of domestic pigeons with a dry, strong, athletic build, slightly elongated body held almost vertically. Distinguished by a pronounced “eagle” posture, long slender neck, small rounded-oval head, very light pearly-white or silvery eyes, narrow deep keel-shaped body, long wings and narrow tail. Male weight 340–410 g, female 300–370 g; body length 340–380 mm; wingspan 680–760 mm. Allowed colors: black with sheen, dark blue with bars, red, yellow, silver, pied (“eagle” pattern — white wings and tail with colored body), marbled. Ideal proportions: body length to neck length 3.6–3.8:1. Disqualifying faults: short thick neck, wide cuboid body, dark iris, heavily feathered shanks, fan-shaped tail.
