spanish strawberry eye
Испанский Клубничный Глаз (spanisches erdbeerauge, ojo de fresa, oeil-de-fraise, colom ull de maduixa)
Calm, peaceful, moderately active. Gets along well with other pigeons. Pronounced decorative instinct — birds demonstrate characteristic posture and head movements that emphasize the eye. Low aggressiveness, suitable for keeping in mixed dovecotes.
Spanish Strawberry Eye — a decorative breed of domestic pigeons from the "eye-pigeons" group. A medium-sized bird with a compact, elegant build, proud posture, and "Spanish" elegance. Differs from the base type by significantly smaller size, more refined conformation, altered iris structure ("strawberry eye" mutation), absence of a white wing mirror in most lines, and vertical neck carriage. The main breed feature is a pronounced "strawberry eye" structure: a rich dark-red or cherry-red iris background with numerous small light (pinkish-white or cream) dots and speckles. Bred in black, red, yellow, blue, silver, coffee, white, and variegated colorations. Ideal proportions: body length is 3.5–4 times the head length; the head comprises 20–22% of total length. Disqualifying faults: solid iris without speckling, feathered shanks, coarse head, humped beak.
