Bernburg Trumpeter
Calm, peaceful, moderately active. Pronounced drumming instinct: males and females produce characteristic low, vibrating sounds (drumming trill) for extended periods, especially during courtship. Gets along well with other pigeons, non-aggressive.
Bernburg Trumpeter (Bernburger Trommeltaube) — medium-sized German breed of drumming pigeons. Compact, broad-chested, "cubic" body. Head relatively large, rounded, broad in the frontal area, massive in relation to the body. No crest. Abundant feathering on the legs ("trousers" and "rosettes"). One of the loudest and longest "drummers". Allowed colors: black, red, yellow, blue with black bars, silver, white. A rich color with a strong metallic sheen on the neck and chest is preferred. Proportions: head:body ≈ 1:5.5; chest width ≥35% of body length. Disqualifying faults: narrow "horse-like" head, absence of drumming, absence of leg feathering, strongly crossed wings, high tail carriage (>30°).
