The Indian mugger crocodile, or mugger, is a medium-sized crocodile with a broad snout. It lives in rivers, lakes, and swamps of India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
The marsh crocodile differs from other crocodiles by its very wide snout. It is important for nature because it controls the population of fish and other animals in water bodies and serves as an indicator of the purity of fresh waters.
