balkan wall lizard
Podarcis tauricus
The Crimean lizard is a small lizard up to 25 centimeters long. It lives on rocky slopes and walls in the countries of the Balkan Peninsula and in Crimea.
The Crimean lizard differs from similar species by the bright green back of males and a special scale pattern. It is beneficial for nature because it eats harmful insects and serves as food for snakes and birds.
