The bridle nightjar is a medium-sized nocturnal bird with dark camouflaging plumage. It lives in East Africa, is active only at night, and catches insects directly in the air.
The bridle nightjar differs from other nightjars in its very dark coloration and lack of bright white stripes on the wings. It is beneficial to nature because it destroys a large number of harmful insects every evening.
