Colorado River toad
Incilius alvarius
The Colorado toad is one of the largest toads in North America. It lives in arid areas in the southwest of the USA and northern Mexico and has poisonous glands on its skin.
The Colorado toad differs from other toads with its very large parotoid glands containing strong poison. It helps nature by eating many insects and serving as food for some snakes and birds.
