The Japanese stargazer is a bottom-dwelling marine fish with strong venom in its spines. It lives on the seabed near the coasts of Japan, camouflages as rocks, and uses pectoral fins to walk slowly along the ground.
The Japanese inimicus differs from other bottom-dwelling fish by its ability to walk on the bottom with fins and very strong venom in its spines. It helps maintain balance in the marine ecosystem by controlling the population of small animals.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
