The Dominican piai is a bird from the cuckoo family that lives only on the island of Haiti. It has a rufous chest, long tail, and gray-brown plumage.
Unlike many cuckoos, the Dominican piaya builds its own nest and raises the chicks itself. It is important for the forest because it eats many harmful insects.
