hermit warbler
Setophaga occidentalis
The yellow-headed forest warbler is a small songbird about 13 centimeters long. Males have a bright yellow head and black throat, living in coniferous forests in western North America.
The yellow-headed forest warbler differs from the closely related Townsend's warbler by having a more uniform yellow head in males without dark spots around the eyes. It is important for the forest because it eats a large number of harmful insects.
Collects prey from leaves and branches or catches in short flight
