snow sheep
Ovis nivicola
The snow sheep is a large ungulate animal that lives in the mountains of Eastern Siberia and the Far East. Males have thick curled horns, and thick fur helps withstand severe frosts and winds.
The snow sheep differs from other sheep with its thick fur and ability to live high in the mountains at very low temperatures. It helps maintain the balance of mountain nature and serves as prey for wolves and other predators.
