Arisan Salamander
Hynobius arisanensis
The Arisan salamander is a small amphibian from the hynobiid family. It lives only in the mountain forests of Taiwan and spends its adult life on land near cold streams.
The Arisan salamander differs from other species of hynobiids by its small size and special spot arrangement. It is important as a predator that controls insect populations, and as an indicator of the purity of mountain water bodies and the preservation of forests.
