long-faced loach
Acantopsis octoactinotos
The longsnouted loach is a freshwater fish with a strongly elongated snout on its head. It lives on the bottom of rivers and streams in Southeast Asia and searches for food there.
The longsnouted loach differs from other loaches with its very long snout, which allows it to extract food from the sand. It helps mix the bottom sediment in rivers and serves as food for predatory fish.
