Esox cisalpinus is a predatory freshwater fish from the pike family. It lives in lakes and rivers of northern Italy and southern Switzerland and hunts other fish.
Esox cisalpinus differs from the common pike in its smaller size, details of coloration and DNA structure. As the main predator in its water bodies, it regulates the population of other fish and maintains the health of the ecosystem.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
