What size will a Shikoku ken puppy be when fully grown?

Mass, length and height of an adult Shikoku ken from the measurements of its puppy: growth calculator

Growth depends on nutrition, health and heredity, so we show a range rather than a single number. For a Shikoku ken it is built from the known sizes at every life stage, from birth to adulthood.

Growth calculator: how big will the young animal grow

How it works

We know how animals grow: for every species and many breeds we know the average weight and size of a young animal at different ages, from birth to adulthood. Give the age, sex and at least one measurement of the youngster (weight, length, height at the withers or length with the tail) and we will show how big it will most likely grow. This is a range, not an exact number: growth depends on nutrition, health and heredity. The more measurements, the narrower the range.

For now we calculate only for mammals with the necessary data: at present cats and dogs, including many breeds.

An extended version is coming soon. It will take measurements at several ages at once, pull the weight and height from the pet diary and refine the forecast by the sizes of the parents and grandparents.

How big will my Shikoku ken puppy grow?

It depends on age, sex, heredity and nutrition. The calculator shows the range of mass, length and height at the withers for a Shikoku ken from the measurements of the puppy, not an exact number.

How much will a Shikoku ken weigh as an adult?

The mass depends on sex and line, so we give a range. Enter the weight of the puppy and its age, and the calculator refines the expected adult mass.

When does a Shikoku ken stop growing?

The main growth ends by a certain age and after that the size hardly changes. For a Shikoku ken this age depends on sex and line; the calculator shows what share of the adult size the puppy has already reached.

How accurate is the growth forecast?

It is a guide, not a promise: growth depends on nutrition, health and heredity. The more measurements you enter, the narrower the range.
