キクイタダキ
年齢
Goldcrests typically live from 5 years 3 months to 8 years 9 months, although the maximum recorded lifespan is 7 years and the theoretical lifespan ranges from 5 years to 7 years 1 month. The species reaches sexual maturity from 1 month 3 weeks to 1 year 1 month. Development begins with the embryo stage, during which the developing organism resides inside an egg. Following this, the nestling stage lasts from 2 weeks 2 days to 3 weeks, during which the young are fed insects by their parents while they remain in the nest. The post-fledging stage, when the young bird leaves the nest and learns to fly and forage independently, lasts from 1 to 3 months. The adult stage, a period when the bird is capable of reproduction, extends from 1 to 5 years.
表現型
The goldcrest has downy plumage that later develops into green-yellow feathers. Young goldcrests after rapid growth exhibit a crest that is already present but less vibrant than in adults. An adult’s body is small and rounded, featuring soft green-yellow plumage on the back and a white belly. The species possesses a thin and sharp beak suitable for catching small insects in needles. A bright yellow crest with an orange stripe runs down the middle of the head, which the bird raises when encountering other goldcrests. The wings are short and rounded, enabling quick and agile flight between branches.
生理学
Goldcrests measure from 8.5 to 9 centimeters in body length and weigh from 8.69 to 10.5 grams; their wingspan is 14 centimeters. The embryo stage has a body mass of 0.1 gram, while the nestling stage exhibits a body mass ranging from 1 to 4 grams and a body length from 4 to 6 centimeters. Following rapid growth, the young goldcrest has a body mass between 4 and 6 grams and a body length from 7 to 8.5 centimeters. Adult goldcrests have a body mass from 5 to 7 grams and a body length from 8.5 to 9 centimeters.
生息地
Goldcrests inhabit terrestrial landscapes, including forests, and are found at elevations up to 2.5 kilometers. The species occupies temperate mixed forests with warm summers and many oak, birch, and maple trees, as well as flooded meadows where the ground is often inundated with water and there is abundant grass. They also live in taiga environments characterized by cold winters and numerous coniferous trees such as spruce and pine, and in tundra regions with very cold temperatures, a short summer, few trees, and much moss. The climate varies, featuring cool summers with temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius, frequent rainfall creating consistently damp conditions, and snowy winters. Summers can also be warm and pleasant with abundant rain.
隠れ家
Goldcrests are found at the ends of the lower branches of spruce trees or other coniferous trees. The species builds or uses nests for laying eggs and raising young. These nests are constructed from moss, lichen, cobwebs, and feathers.
地理
Goldcrests are found within the Palearctic biogeographical region, inhabiting Kelty broadleaf forests, Western European broadleaf forests, coniferous forests of the Qilian Mountains, Baltic mixed forests, European Atlantic mixed forests, and Sarmatian mixed forests.
餌
Goldcrests feed on small insects and spiders, constantly moving along branches and needles of trees to find food; the species collects prey from the surface of needles and branches, including butterflies, flies, Hymenoptera, beetles, bedbugs, Orthoptera, dragonflies, mayflies, and lacewings, as well as insect eggs, larvae, and plant matter. The diet also includes insects and insect larvae; the daily food requirement ranges from 1.5 grams to 3 grams, and the feeding strategy involves searching for and obtaining food.
繁殖
The yellow-headed kinglet exhibits a short embryonic development period of only 1 week 1 day. In spring, the female builds a nest and lays from 7 to 12 eggs, after which she incubates them for approximately two weeks. The brood size ranges from 5 to 12 chicks, which the male helps feed. An individual reaches maturity at an age of from 10 months to 1 year 1 month. The reproductive interval for the species is from 1 year to 1 year 1 month, and the offspring may be from 7 to 12 individuals.
