- The blackbuck can reach speeds of up to 80–96 km/h. The distance between its jumps can reach 6.6 m.
- Male blackbucks fight fiercely, butting horns with an audible crack. Often, they break their horns in such fights.
- Young male blackbucks form bachelor herds until they establish their own herd of females. To increase their chances of survival, they remain in such herds.
- Gestation lasts about six months; usually a single fawn is born and females can produce two offspring per year.
- Numbers declined sharply from hunting but are recovering in protected areas.
- The diet consists mainly of grasses, supplemented by shrub leaves in the dry season.
- Introduced populations thrive in Texas and Argentina.
나이
Indian antelopes typically live from 10 to 15 years, with a maximum recorded lifespan of 23 years and 11 months, and a theoretical lifespan ranging from 12 years to 21 years and 6 months; the age of sexual maturity varies from 11 months and 3 weeks to 1 year and 7 months. The young are born with open eyes and begin walking immediately. During the embryonic stage, the fetus develops inside the mother, followed by the infant stage where the young live with their mother, feeding on milk and beginning to eat grass. An adult Indian antelope is capable of reproduction and remains in this stage for a duration of 2 to 20 years.
표현형
The Garana possesses a characteristic coat coloration that changes with age: the young has light brown fur with a white belly, while the adult form displays dark, almost black fur on the back and sides with white markings. Male Garana have long, screw-shaped horns, which are used in territorial disputes.
생리학
The Indian antelope’s body length ranges from 1 to 1.4 meters; its mass is 37.5 kilograms. During the embryo stage, the body mass varies from 1 gram to 4 kilograms. The young have a body mass ranging from 3 to 15 kilograms and a body length of 60 centimeters to 0.9 meters. Adult Indian antelopes weigh from 20 to 57 kilograms and measure 1.1 to 1.4 meters in body length.
서식지
Indian antelopes inhabit elevations up to 300 meters above sea level and are found in tropical dry forests characterized by heat, a dry season, and deciduous trees; deserts and dry scrublands with intense heat and infrequent rainfall where cacti thrive; tropical savannas experiencing uneven rainfall and abundant grasses and trees; and temperate steppes featuring extensive grasslands and few trees with occasional rainfall. The species occupies terrestrial landscapes including grasslands and steppes, as well as terrestrial herbaceous areas. They live in hot steppe environments with very hot, dry summers and abundant grass, extremely arid regions with rare rainfall, areas with minimal winter precipitation but more summer rain, locations with hot temperatures, limited winter rainfall, and frequent summer rain, and consistently hot climates with frequent rainfall but occasional dryness.

지리
The Indian gazelle inhabits the Indomalayan and Nearctic realms, being found in the Thar Desert, the Cholistan Desert, and Thorny Scrub forests of the western Aravalli Range.
먹이
Indian antelopes consume grasses and young plant shoots, grazing on low vegetation in open areas; the species’ diet includes grasses, young shoots, leaves, grass, young shoots, and sprouts. The feeding method is grazing, and the strategy for obtaining food is also grazing. Daily food consumption ranges from 0.8 kilograms to 2 kilograms.
번식
Indian antelopes inhabit terrestrial environments and reproduce through live birth, with young being born alive on land rather than hatching from eggs or larvae; gestation lasts 5 months and 3 weeks, resulting in a litter of 1 to 2 young. Following mating, the female gives birth to one offspring, and the newborn hides in grass while the mother remains nearby for the first few days. The species exhibits homogamy, meaning reproduction always involves fertilization without generational changes; sexual maturity is reached between 1 year and 4 months and 2 years and 6 months. The interval between breeding events ranges from 7 months and 3 weeks to 1 year, and a female can have 1 to 2 offspring per breeding cycle.
