Hebridean Pony
Calm, hardy, independent, self-confident. Well adapted to harsh conditions, possesses a strong self-preservation instinct, moderately sociable, but may show stubbornness.
Hebridean Pony — one of the smallest and most primitive breeds of British ponies. A compact, extremely hardy animal with a pronounced "pony type". Height at withers 1020–1320 mm (ideal 1120–1220 mm), weight 180000–320000 g, body length 1400–1650 mm. Build is strong, harmonious, with a short back, powerful croup, relatively large head, broad forehead and short muzzle. Distinguished by very dense winter coat (undercoat up to 80–100 mm), primitive markings (dark dorsal stripe, zebra stripes on legs, shoulder cross). Virtually all solid colors are allowed: black (most characteristic), bay, brown, mouse dun, palomino, buckskin. Small white markings are allowed; large spots, roan, pinto and leopard colors are not allowed. Proportions: body length ≈ height at withers, chest depth 45–48 % of height, head ≈ 40 % of height.
