Lincolnshire Dray Horse
Calm, balanced, good-natured and obedient. High work capacity, tolerance to heavy physical exertion. Low aggression, good compatibility with other horses and people. Typical "cold-blooded" draft horse with a phlegmatic temperament.
Lincolnshire Dray Horse — a heavy draft breeding line of the British working horse, bred in Lincolnshire County for transporting heavy loads over soft, marshy soils. One of the largest and most massive draft breeds in Great Britain. Height at withers 1720–1880 mm (ideal 1780–1850 mm in stallions). Live weight of stallions 850000–1100000 g, mares 750000–950000 g. Build massive, broad, with deep body, powerful bone, short strong limbs. Head large, broad, with pronounced Roman (convex) profile. Neck powerful, short to medium length (550–750 mm), with crest in stallions. Chest deep and wide (girth 2200–2600 mm). Back short, broad, straight. Croup massive, rounded or slightly split, slightly sloping. Limbs very strong, pastern girth in stallions 280–320 mm. Hooves large, wide, 160–195 mm in diameter. Tail set high, thick. Coat dense, coarse, with pronounced fringing on legs. Dominant color — black, small white markings allowed. Differs from Shire by more compact body, shorter legs, more fleshy hind limbs and less abundant fringing; from Clydesdale — by predominance of black color and heavier type.
