The Javan tiger was a small subspecies of tiger that lived only on the island of Java in Indonesia. It had dark orange fur with narrow black stripes and was a strong hunter.
The Javan tiger differed from other tigers in its smaller size and narrower stripes on its fur. As the main predator, it maintained balance in Java's forests by controlling the number of herbivorous animals.
