Physiology of the gaur

Gaur: what is it like

Gaur body height ranges from 1.21 to 1.9 meters, and body length varies from 2 to 3 meters; the species' mass is 0.82 metric tons. The embryo stage has a body mass ranging from 5 to 35 kilograms. The young have a body mass from 20 to 35 kilograms and a body length from 80 centimeters to 1.2 meters. Adult gaurs possess a body mass between 0.6 and 1 metric ton, and their body length is from 2.2 to 3 meters.

Bos frontalis
The gaur is a large even-toed ungulate from the Bovidae family. It lives in hilly forests of Southeast Asia and is sometimes raised by locals as domestic livestock.
The gaur differs from domestic cows by its more powerful build, long horns, and ability to live in forests on slopes. It helps local tribes and maintains the balance of vegetation in mountain forests.
